A Parent’s Role:
The more that the parents take part in their student’s education, the greater their entire school experience. It improves them in all areas such as grades, motivation, and behavior. Encouraging parental engagement in your student’s education is more than common courtesy. It’s one of the best ways to create a positive learning environment and bring success for every student.
Staying Connected:
We believe in the partnership of our staff, parents, and teachers with sharing the responsibility to help your student learn and meet educational goals. For your student to be successful at SLHS, we urge our Falcon parents to stay engaged with each class through FACTS, Google Classroom & communications with each teacher. Get to know your teachers, staff & coaches. Ask questions. Read correspondence and know that we need your engagement to bring your child the best experience they can receive from high school.
Parent Involvement Program (PIP:
Per your enrollment commitment, every student will need 20 volunteer service hours completed by a parent and/or guardian. We try our best to communicate a variety of options for parents to find ways that suit their skills and their time available. PIP opportunities can be things such as working our snack shack during a home game, decorating for an event, bringing food in for bake sales or class parties. We also have opportunities that incorporate specific skills like photography, fund raising, event planning, networking, coaching. We suggest you start early in the year to try and find your hours before the end of year rush. Stay posted through the years as PIP opportunities arise.

FACTS= an all-in-one resource for your you. this includes the student information system (sis) and your portal for academic/attendance/behavior (renweb) along with your management for tuition/lunch payments etc.
SCRIP= a no cost way to have a % of purchases from your favorite stores be donated to the school by each company
REGISTER MY ATHLETE= the website you will use to sign up your student for athletics
GOOGLE CLASSROOM= our online connecting point for most classes, where the student and parents can find class assignments, resources & info etc.
SIGNUP.COM= the website we use at times to offer pip opportunities where we communicate much of the volunteer opportunities
FALCON TIMES= our weekly email that keeps you connected to our most current events, needs and successes.
